Our Privacy Promise
At Soulmate, your relationship is your own. The memories, moments, and messages you store in the App are intimate and personal — and we treat them that way. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the choices you have over your own data.
What We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide you with the Soulmate experience. Here's a breakdown:
Information you give us directly:
- Account information (name, email address, profile photo)
- Relationship details you choose to add (anniversary date, names, etc.)
- Content you create — photos, notes, memories, journal entries
- Messages you send to our support team
- Payment information (processed and stored by our payment provider — we never see your full card details)
Information collected automatically:
- Device type, operating system, and app version
- Crash reports and error logs (to fix bugs)
- General usage patterns (which features are used, not what content is in them)
- IP address and approximate location (country-level only, for fraud prevention)
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Soulmate App and its features
- Process your subscription payments and send receipts
- Send you important account notifications and service updates
- Respond to your support requests and feedback
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or illegal activity
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
We do not use your personal content (photos, notes, memories) to train AI models, serve targeted advertising, or any other purpose beyond delivering the App to you.
Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure servers with industry-standard protections. We use:
- AES-256 encryption for data at rest
- TLS 1.3 for all data in transit between your device and our servers
- Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
- Strict access controls — only a small number of authorised personnel can access infrastructure, and access is logged
- Automated backups to protect against data loss
While no system is completely impenetrable, we are committed to maintaining the highest reasonable standard of security for your data. In the unlikely event of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you promptly in accordance with applicable law.
Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information to anyone, ever. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
We will only share your information in the following limited circumstances:
- With your explicit consent — for example, if you choose to share a memory publicly or export your data
- With trusted service providers who help us run the App (e.g. cloud storage, payment processing) — all of whom are contractually bound to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify
- When required by law — if we receive a valid legal order or are required to disclose data to prevent imminent harm or illegal activity
- In a business transfer — if Soulmate is acquired or merged, your data would transfer to the new entity under the same privacy protections, and you would be notified
Cookies & Tracking
The Soulmate app uses minimal cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking technologies.
Our website may use analytics cookies (such as anonymised usage statistics) to help us understand how visitors use the site and improve it. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time, though some features may not work as intended.
Third-Party Services
Soulmate integrates with a small number of trusted third-party services to provide functionality. These include payment processors, cloud infrastructure providers, and crash-reporting tools. Each is carefully vetted and bound by data processing agreements.
These third-party services have their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing them. However, none of these partners have access to your personal content (your memories, photos, notes) — only the technical information necessary to perform their specific function.
Your Rights
You have meaningful control over your personal data. The following rights are available to all users:
To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
Soulmate is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a child under 18 has provided us with personal data, we will delete it promptly. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, please contact us immediately at [email protected].
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we make significant changes, we will notify you via the App or by email before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision.
